The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has launched its Find&Fix mobile application after a testing phase, allowing road users to report potholes, faulty traffic signals and storm water drains.
HumanIPO reported last month the JRA had launched the initiative, inviting the public to take part in testing.
“The app is the first of its kind to be launched in the Southern Hemisphere; Middle East, Asia, and Africa regions. Another African first for [Johannesburg],” said Skhumbuzo Macozoma, managing director (MD) of JRA.
“The Find & Fix app will assist the public to report potholes, faulty traffic signals, storm water drains, manhole covers, and other infrastructure issues related to JRA.”
The app makes use of geolocation and a smartphone’s camera in order to report faults, and will be free to download and use, with availability on Android, iOS and Windows Mobile.
