Huawei committed to win-win outcomes in Africa – global VP

Huawei is committed to the creation of mutually beneficial opportunities and win-win outcomes in Africa, global vice president (VP) Charles Dingg has told the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa in Abuja, Nigeria.

According to Dingg, the future development of the ICT industry relies on effective planning, innovative technologies and sufficient investment. He said over the next five years Huawei will provide training to 10,000 people in Africa.

“Huawei is committed to developing its business in Africa where our commitment will create mutually beneficial opportunities and win-win outcomes. Africa and China have enjoyed a strong relationship that has seen extensive cooperation in political, economic, and cultural areas. Africa has an open and inclusive approach to international trade relations, which has created a sound business environment for Huawei’s development in the region,” he said.

In Africa, he said Huawei has employed more than 7,000 workers and has created about 12,000 indirect procurement and outsourcing jobs.
