First curved TVs launched in Ghana

LG’s organic light emitting diode (OLED) television, the world’s first curved TV, has been launched in Ghana by SOMOTEX Ghana, the sole distributor of LG Electronics in the country.

The product was launched at an event held at Accra’s Movenpick Ambassador Hotel. Speaking at the launch, Pranab Mohanty, vice president of Somotex Ghana, said the company will continue to bring next generation technologies to Ghana.

Mohanty said: “The next-generation display technology and the advanced ultra-thin depth of 4.3mm comes with a unique curved design which represents a new era in home entertainment. It must be seen to be believed.”

Paul Mba, head of TV marketing at LG Africa said the TV has a gently curved screen and comes with LG’s WRGB OLED technology in addition to exceptional picture quality and an immersive viewing experience.
