Sony has announced it will launch its low cost PlayStation TV in North America and Europe by the end of the year.
The system, which will provide users with the ability to stream music and films and enable Remote Play – allowing game portability between TV sets – will be available as a standalone unit for US$99.
Alternatively the TV will be available for purchase in a bundle, including a dual shock controller, 8GB memory card and the LEGO game for US$139.
In addition to Remote Play functionality and PS4 compatibility, the PlayStation TV will allow users to stream PS3 games. The service will be available in North America by the end of the year, with a later release date set for Europe and other PAL countries.
