Barclays Bank Tanzania has unveiled the first ever paperless banking service in the country, targeted at fostering banking services and making financial transactions easier for customers.
Speaking during the official launch in Dar es Salaam at the weekend, Barclays retail director Kumaran Pather said the bank was proud to be the first to introduce such a unique initiative in the Tanzanian market.
Pather said paperless banking is just one of the projects the bank has embarked on in the aim to improve its customer service.
“Paperless banking services are taking the place of traditional paper products including the use of withdrawal and cash deposit forms,” he said.
“This is a fantastic innovation and a milestone to be proud of as now our customers can now complete their teller banking transactions in less than three minutes with no fill in slips required for cash and cheque deposits, cash withdrawals and cash encashment.”
