Microsoft hosts Windows XP end of support training brief in Kenya

Microsoft has hosted a briefing to train Kenyan media professionals in Windows 8.1 and the end of support for Windows XP.

HumanIPO reported in April on the end of support for Windows XP, though it emerged shortly after that more than 27 per cent of PCs were still using the platform.

During the briefing, the Microsoft team provided information on the issuing of security updates for various products, and urged customers were urged to apply all updates. The existing lifecycle policy remains in place, which means Windows XP and Office 2003 customers will no longer receive updates.

“Windows 8.1 Update provides more of what people love about Windows across more devices: quicker access to what’s important, a more familiar and consistent experience across touch and non-touch devices, and more ways to discover great apps,” said the team in a statement.
