SME/IT business conference hosted next week in Lagos

A business conference aimed at creating a robust SME/IT environment in Nigeria through joint participation of the various stakeholders in the IT industry will take place next week.

The event has been organised by 360di Limited, a Lagos-based digital agency, and take place on Tuesday, March 19.

In an interview with HumanIPO, 360di Limited’s head of Operations and Strategy, Lami Idakwo, said the reason behind organising the conference is to help individuals with great ideas take their business concept beyond their immediate environment.

She said: “We realised that the people that are actually aware of how to use technology are usually tech people most times. There are also the people that have very good business ideas, but they can’t take it beyond their immediate environment.

“Now we understand and believe also that technology is what will help them to take it from their immediate environment to outside their environment. for example, here in Lagos, you can actually be attending to your customers in Abuja. It’s only through technology that you can do that.”

She stated the conference is meant for entrepreneurs who seek to expand their project.

“We’ve also invited financial companies as well, especially the ones that offer financial services to SMEs. Because these companies have various products for the SMEs but they don’t know how to meet them as well. The conference will bring about that bridge and at the end of the day they will start networking as well.”

Speakers at the one-day conference include Peter Bankole from pan-African University, Lola Talabi-Oni, Ezekiel Solesi and Nkemdilim Uwaje, the CEO/Managing Director of Future Software Resources Nigeria Limited.
