Social Media Week (SMW) Johannesburg has begun accepting submissions from parties interested in becoming event partners.
HumanIPO reported in March the event would be taking place in September in South Africa, the second African destination of the series after two successful events in Lagos, geared towards generating dialogue, examining current trends, and discussing the reach, potential and impact of social media and digital technology.
The theme of the event is “The Future of Now: Always, On, Always Connected”, and the deadline for event submissions is July 18.
“In as much as SMW Johannesburg will hold its own core discussions and dialogues,at the heart of the event’s success and identity is incorporating a multiplicity of voices, and creating platforms for a wide range of companies – whether large corporations, or startups, NGO’s or government departments – to get involved and be part of the conversation,” said Addiel Dzinoreva, executive director of Social Media Week Johannesburg.
“This is an opportunity for leading organisations, brands and professionals to take part in a global movement that brings together some of the brightest minds and game-changers in business, society and culture. As a networking exercise, it is unparalleled in its potential to reach target audiences.”
The conference aims to be content rich, share important insights and innovations, and serve the greater good.
“Much in the spirit of Social Media Week itself, the events are expected to be interactive in nature, provoke a discussion that lasts beyond the event itself, and integrate technology in a meaningful and user-friendly manner,” the organisers said.
