South African mobile prepaid electricity merchant Powertime is offering users ZAR50 (US$4.72) cash back on their first purchase made using the platform ahead of new electricity rates to be imposed in July.
The company allows users to by electricity tokens on smartphones and on a mobi site also offers information on electricity consumption.
“South Africa being one of the countries expensive electricity in the world, we want to help our users reduce their electricity expenses and enable them to control their consumption with smart and innovative solutions,” said Sebastien Lacour, managing director of Powertime.
In order to benefit from the cash back offer users are instructed to register on the Powertime website and purchase more than ZAR350 (US$33) worth of electricity before June 30.
