GOtv Nigeria subscribers have nothing to worry about concerning the migration from analogue to digital transmission, public relations manager Efe Obiomah has told HumanIPO.
According to Obiomah, GOtv decoders are the most advanced T2 technology approved decoder, and are already digital.
“GOtv decoders are the most advanced T2 technology approved decoder and are already digital which means there will be no need to upgrade from a T1 to a T2 decoder when the analogue signal is switched off,” she said.
Analogue transmission globally must be switched off and digital transmission switched on by June 15 next year, with Nigeria having announced it will be kicking off the process on June 30 this year in Jos, Plateau state.
With digital migration, Obiomah said television viewers in Nigeria will enjoy an increased number of channels, improved quality and better reception.
“[GOtv] comes from a solid corporate background; MultiChoice has a proud legacy of providing the best digital pay TV in Africa for 20 years,” she said..
“GOtv offers a wide variety of genres – news & current affairs, kiddies programming, movies and general entertainment, religious programming, sports, music, and documentaries.”
