Ghana to host fifth AITEC conference next week

The fifth of its kind, Aitec Banking and Mobile Money West Africa conference, the region’s leading forum, is scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, Tuesday next week.

The conference, now in its 5th year, will address the key issues faced by the region’s increasingly dynamic financial services sector.

AITEC chairman Sean Moroney said the conference will serve as a bench-mark event for West Africa’s banking and payments industry particularly in Ghana where there is a new determination on the part of financial institutions to upgrade systems and adopt leading-edge technologies to deliver improved services to a broader customer base.

Set to feature over 50 speakers, this year’s Aitec conference will focus on financial integration for national and regional development, cloud computing for financial services, mobile money for financial inclusion, productivity tools to achieve service excellence, multi-channel service strategies, risk management and data security strategies.

Banking and payment technology experts from the UK, Switzerland, USA, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, India, Finland, Canada, Egypt, and Ghana are expected to participate in the event, Aitec organizers say.

ICT managers and professionals in the banking and financial services sector including the industry regulators, policy-makers, innovators and service providers, telecom operators and media representatives among other key stakeholders will also attend.

The 2-day conference is slated to start on May 28, 2012 at Accra International Conference Centre.
