Nigerian gaming e-commerce platform TopDownDeals has announced the launch of its video game rental services in the Lagos Metro area.
The company said it is launching a service that platforms such as Gamefly.com had already launched in the United States.
“Well if Americans can have this service, why can’t we Nigerians?” Oluseye Faleye, chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of TopDownDeals, said.
He first told HumanIPO about the video game rental service in May, though he said it faced challenges as Nigeria does not have the logistical infrastructure in place to make a gaming rental service attractive for many gaming providers.
“However, after a year of planning, TopDownDeals.com is confident that it can provide this service to Nigerian gamers to rent video games online in Lagos,” he said.
He said the company is rolling out the test phase of the service in the Lagos Metro area this month.
