Labaran Maku, Nigeria’s minister of information, has announced more Nigerian cities will be switched over from analogue to digital transmission, with state governments to be prepared for full digital migration on October 31.
Maku said: “What state governments need do is to prepare for the migration. It is just contents in stations that they require; they don’t need those big transmitters. Between now and October 31, we need to switch on the various cities to the platform.”
He said this in Abuja while speaking at the 41st Annual General Meeting and election of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN). The minister also revealed government’s plan to float a second signal distributor.
