Samsung Electronics East Africa yesterday unveiled its fancy low-cost Android powered smartphone named Samsung Galaxy Pocket in Nairobi, Kenya.
Samsung Galaxy Pocket now becomes the third cheapest smartphone in the country.
Powered on the Android platform, the Samsung Galaxy pocket will give users a chance to access over 400,000 applications on the Google Play store. The phone comes in various colours including yellow, white, orange, pink and black.
Samsung Electronic East Africa business leader Robert Ngeru said he expects the phone to perform well in the coming months.
“The user is able to multi task between several applications without having to close any of them. This enhances the user’s experience and allows them to be more productive,” Ngeru noted.
The introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket becomes an addition to their qwerty phones launched in recent months to counter Nokia’s Letsqwerty campaign.
