Celltick, a global mobile home screen marketing company, has appointed a new VP for Africa. The company yesterday said the appointment of Moshe Rint comes as part of its strategy to extend its influence in the continent’s fast-paced mobile market.
Moshe has over 18 years of experiences in building businesses in Africa. He previously worked for Gilat Satcom leading one of its African subsidiaries. Celltick said it seeks to tap into his wide experience to increase its market share in Africa.
This comes as the battle for the African Mobile market heats up.
Celltick CEO Ronen Daniel said Africa has remained largely unexplored by the company and the strategy is to turn it into a huge market in the next few years.
The company also plans to introduce services ranging from m-education, m-health to local commerce initiatives that save money. This is in a bid to cover 80 percent of the world subscriber base, according to Celltick.
Africa has a mobile subscriber base of over 600 million and is said to be the fastest growing market in the world.
Africa technology market has taken a completely different growth path from that of the West. In Africa, mobile phones have become the basic necessity for communication instead of the more expensive computers, the company said.
Founded in 2000, Celltick has offices in Europe, Asia, South America and the US. It boasts of successfully deploying its LiveScreen solution to more than 50 major operators across the world, reaching over 133 million users.
