#oscarpistorius is trending on South African Twitter after a court eased his bail conditions, prompting outrage on the microblogging site.
The North Gauteng High Court agreed to relax the prohibition of Pistorius leaving the country and competing, ruling he may now travel abroad and participate in races, although some conditions – such as notifying the court of travel plans – have been put in place.
Pistorius is also now allowed to consume alcohol, thus removing another of the initial bail conditions.
Twitter users have rushed to express disappointment in the South African legal system, with many finding it hard to accept an admitted killer is allowed to travel and enjoy the lifestyle of an international athlete.
