Spinlet, a music service from Nigeria, has officially gone live on Google’s app store, Google Play.
The service launched early this month will offer another music app, TruSpot, a run for its money.
Spinlet describes its service as, “a lifestyle entertainment and music service offering the best new local and international music for fans in Africa.”
Artists and music labels can publish their latest hits and entire catalogues on the platform. Music lovers can as well buy, listen, share, and manage music – all within one free user-friendly mobile app.
Since the app’s launch, the Spinlet android app has been downloaded 500 times on the Google Play store.
It works with Android 2.2 Froyo and is also available on Symbian phones and Blackberry.
Presently, the app is however only available in Nigeria.
Similar services from out of Nigeria include Zikify from Uganda and Streemio from Ghana.
