AUC demands end to Zuma imposters on social media

The African Union Commission (AUC) has demanded “hackers in the social media space” to stop posing as AUC chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma on social media sites.

In a statement released today, the AUC said hackers were “masquerading” as Dlamini-Zuma, who herself has no social media accounts.

A search by HumanIPO found no Twitter account claiming to be the AUC chair, but several Facebook pages have been set up in her name, though none are particularly well-subscribed.

“It has come to the attention of the African Union Commission that there are hackers in the social media space, masquerading as the AUC Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Clarice (N.C.) Dlamini Zuma,” the statement read.

“The AU Commission would like to make it absolutely clear that the AU Commission  Chairperson, is currently not holding any accounts with social media platforms. The AU Commission would like all and sundry to desist from the unauthorised utilisation of Her Excellency’s name.”
