A new verification system to zero in on Nigeria’s counterfeits

Nigeria-based mobile solutions company SysServe Solutions has developed a verification service called VerifyNigeria expected to tackle counterfeiting, piracy, document forgery and other forms of fraud by using a simple, cost-effective and customer-focused approach.

Okechukwu explained to Humanipo VerifyNigeria provides used car buyers in Nigeria an easy and instant means of checking history of imported vehicles before closing purchase.

“This helps protect car buyers as well as reduce the fraud perpetrated by some car importers in Nigeria like selling refurbished accidented, salvaged, wrecked or stolen cars and tampering of mileage without disclosing this to buyers,” he said.

Many used car buyers have bought our vehicle history report, benefited from this service and testified to that effect, he went on.

Okechukwu says using VerifyNigeria to obtain Vehicle history report is simple, as “one has to get the vehicle’s unique VIN Number, enter it into the portal, add his email address and phone number and proceed to payment.”

“We accept Master card, Verve, e-transact and Interswitch. The history report is then instantly delivered through their browser, email and SMS,” Okechukwu said.

He assures that the reports are sourced from the trusted National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) and other trusted sources in US.

He further revealed that the Mobile version is getting popular as it allows buyers to generate reports at the point of purchase using their mobile phones.

The report summary can also be send as SMS summary or full report sent by Email. The system also has phone, email, chat technical support.

The electronic verification services Vehicle History Check gives an instantly status of a vehicle or motorcycle’s previous accident, salvage record, reported mileage, stolen record and title information before making purchase.

The service also helps in Consumer Product Verification to protect consumers and manufacturers against product counterfeiting and piracy by enabling consumers to verify the authenticity of manufactured products at the point of purchase.

Launched earlier this month, the site has since accumulated more than 2000 unique visitors. Okogbue Okechukwu, Balogun Kazeem and Owoeye Johnson founded VerifyNigeria.

Lastly, Okechukwu says they do not just want to be identified as a vehicle history verification service. He says,”VerifyNigeria is a verification platform not just for vehicle history verification. We are adding soon product verification for consumers to instantly verify that a product is not counterfeit and even institutions and firms can use it to verify documents or certificates like Degree certificates, Company certificates”.
