The East Africa Outsourcing Summit
When: 5th-6th June

East Africa Outsourcing is a platform for both existing and potential players in the outsourcing space in East Africa to network and gain insight from the major outsourcing regions.

Pivot East
When: 5th-6th June
Where: Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya

Pivot East is this year’s edition of the region’s premier mobile apps / developer competition held successfully in 2011 under the name Pivot 25. It will culminate in a pitching conference on 5th and 6th June 2012. The competition has five categories, each with five finalists pitching to a rich audience of investors, development partners, telecoms operators and other industry players from East Africa and across the globe. The online registration process for developers and mobile entrepreneurs who would wish to take part as contestants is now open.

- South Africa

Silicon Cape VC Office Hours
When: 1st June
Where: Bandwidth Barn’s Offices, Cape Town

VC Office Hours is a new monthly initiative by Silicon Cape where startups get a chance to ask an investor specific questions regarding the funding processes and aspects different of your entrepreneurship. The format of the sessions will be that six start-up teams and will get a 30-minute question slot on the first Friday of each month with a funder.

Node.js Cape Town
When: 7th June
Where: CodeBridge, Claremont, Cape Town

Node.js Cape Town is a meetup focused on Server Side Javascript, and in particular Node.js. The Meetup Cape Town based Node.js and JS enthusiasts who get together every so often to discuss technology and interesting projects centred on scripting language Node.js.
