Online music streaming service Deezer released a Windows 8 app yesterday (Wednesday), putting it one step ahead of competitors Spotify and Rdio.
Despite the noteworthy digital music company’s claim that the new app has exclusive features on the Windows 8 platform, none are clearly visible, reported The Verge.
The Windows release of more than 20,000 tracks is made available in 180 countries, excluding United States.
The service launched in South Africa in January 2013.
Deezer optimised its interface to be suitable for touch screen users.
Free access to the music library is available for a year, after which a subscription fee is charged for continued services.
HumanIPO reported yesterday on Deezer’s collaboration with French telecommunication operator Orange to promote African music talent.
