BlackBerry has announced it is to add a Skype application to BlackBerry 10 devices, with the app set to be available on the new Q10 device from launch day.
HumanIPO reported yesterday the new BlackBerry Q10 smartphone will become available to South African customers via Vodacom from Thursday, May 2.
BlackBerry 10 launched with 70,000 apps as a strategic move to compete against iOS and Android, with apps including eBay, Twitter and Facebook, as well as South African app PriceCheck.
So far, however, Skype – which is owned by Microsoft – has been missing. It is now set to be available on the Q10, though users of the Z10 will need to wait a few weeks more.
