Comztek, a global leader in communications and technology solutions, has officially opened its office in Mauritius at the Moka Business Centre.
According to Paul Conradie, MD of Comztek, the Mauritius office is yet another milestone in Comztek’s African expansion strategy and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to the country and the continent as a whole.
“We are very excited about the prospects the region holds and look forward to working with the local business community, to ensure we are able to bring them technology solutions, that will assist them in further positioning themselves as contenders in a global economy,” Conradie said.
The office will act as the access point for the country’s business community and educational institutions to Comztek’s state-of-the-art supplies.
According to C.I.A ,Mauritius has around 42 percent of its more 1.2 million population living in urban centres and around 84.4 literacy rate. The country also has more than 300,000 Internet users and 1.91 million cellular connections thus making it a potential market for technology products and solutions.
“Mauritius is an amazing success story; a country with no natural resources that out-performs many of its counterparts across the globe. Its government has recognised the importance of ICT to the country’s growth and has created a specific focus on the industry. This in itself is exceptionally forward thinking within not just the African, but a global context,” says Bridget Kelly, sales director: south and eastern Africa at Comztek.
“It is against this backdrop that Comztek is expanding its footprint into the country, by securing a local office, appointing a local team, and working with local technology businesses to bring world-class technology solutions to business, government and customers in the region. It is also our goal as a business to contribute to Mauritius, by creating jobs and developing local technology skills,&ddquo; she adds.
Comztek began in 1995, in CapeTown, SA. The firm has grown into an established global brand in communication systems. It recently refocused its operations to include six business units, Networks, Security and Storage, Software Infrastructure, Consumer Electronics, Data Center and Voice and Video. Apart from distribution the firm also offers skilled after sales service and training.
The Comztek Mauritius offices will be led by Sales manager Vivek Rajiah with local business people and the Comztek African support team.
In Mauritius, Comztek will focus on reselling premium brands such as Cisco, Avaya, Fujitsu, Ruckus Wireless, Kaspersky, Microsoft.
