This year’s World Environment Day saw Samsung and an East African musical talent search dubbed Tusker Project Fame (TPF) celebrate in style. The two have partnered to save the environment as well as make this year’s talent search paperless, fast and more interactive.
Samsung promises to eliminate paperwork in the house thanks to its electronics including Galaxy Tabs and smartphones, production software and Touch Screen Smart LED TV to the contestants, faculty, judges and show producers.
Samsung East Africa Business Leader Robert Ngeru says the Galaxy Tabs and Galaxy Pocket phones, Samsung Digital Still and Video Camcorders will allow the contestants to communicate, receive instructions and record and share responses experiences real time.
It will also cut down on the use of paper scripts, it adds.
Samsung has turned digital all house operations from the faculty using the Galaxy Tablets to send assignments to the contestants.
The judges will also deliver verdicts through the Tablets while producers of the show will use the Samsung custom-made software to record, edit and produce the show.
The live audience have not been left out as a Touch Screen Smart LED TV will be fitted on stage. Samsung will in addition fit Air Conditioning to the house.
East African Breweries MD Seni Adetu applauded Samsungs surprise partnership saying, they are constantly on the lookout for ways to bring much more than just world-class entertainment to the millions of viewers tuning into the TPF.
The gadgets will make the production of the show efficient and fast adding even flavour to the audience.
Ngeru says the firm’s sponsorship to ensure full digital interaction using Samsung Galaxy Tablets and Smart TV’s with touch screen capabilities showcases Samsung’s commitment to the ideals of a Green Economy.
The regional musical talent show, in its fifth year, has 15 selected contestants whose talents are nurtured by a faculty through the eight weeks the contestants are hosted.
Best performing contestants remain in the show to the end. The winner takes home a year’s recording and modelling deal with a reputable record company and KSh5 million cash prize.
The show is broadcast live across the larger East African region. It is sponsored by East African Breweries.
