Pule did not apologise to Sunday Times

Dina Pule has “no intention” of apologising to the Sunday Times and denies claims she did last week, according to a statement by the Department of Communications.

HumanIPO reported last week Pule’s lawyer had visited the offices of the newspaper to apologise to them after holding a press conference accusing its reporters of blackmail and orchestrating a personally motivated smear campaign.

However, Pule’s spokesperson Siyabulela Qoza issued a statement today (Friday) refuting that any apology ever took place and the lawyer mentioned by the Sunday Times, Ronnie Bokwa, did not represent the minister.

He said: “The Sunday Times even went further, to allege that one of the individuals concerned is minister Pule’s lawyer. This is false.”

“Sunday Times editors foolishly published the story without even checking the facts. Shockingly, the Sunday Times reported about this without even seeking a response from minister Pule on the specific allegations.”

Qoza said Pule had not sent any representatives to the Sunday Times’ office.
