Launched two months back, Buni TV is receiving enthusiastic reception with over 90,000 page views and more than 1,500 hours of video watched so far.
The Web and mobile video distribution platform that aims to become the premier destination for quality pan-African content, according to Marie Lora-Mungai, Executive Producer of The XYZ Show and CEO of Buni TV, would leverage Africa’s mobile phone revolution to bring the show directly into the hands of its fans.
Lora-Mungai yesterday told HumanIPO the distribution of quality African content is “a challenge on the continent,” and “we wanted to ensure that as many people as possible have access to The XYZ Show.”
Developed by Buni Media, the producers of The XYZ Show, Buni TV is a global platform that showcases pan-African video content.
The XYZ Show, Africa’s first political satire program featuring life-size latex puppets, currently reaches an audience of more than 8 million people every month, in Kenya and beyond, through its various platforms.
The very popular and often controversial political satire program, which has made a comeback in its sixth season, is scheduled to return on June 10 at 9pm on Kenya’s Kiss TV. The show will then air every Sunday at 8pm with a repeat on Mondays at 8pm.
The XYZ Show Season 6 will be our boldest season ever, says Gado, Creator and Producer of the show.
It will continue to expose all political scoundrels and their shenanigans of course, but as the country prepares for the next elections, we will especially focus on the presidential candidates and their side kicks, Gado explains.
Kiss TV went national in April, increasing its transmission capacity and installing new transmitters in Nyanza, Rift Valley, Coast and Western provinces. This means viewers from across the country will now be able to enjoy The XYZ Show on television.
For fans across the country and in the Diaspora, the XYZ Show will also be available for free on the new digital video platform Buni TV. Fans will be able to access new and old episodes of The XYZ Show online and on their mobile phones.
Buni TV is a service of Buni Media, a multi-media company based in Nairobi, Kenya and Los Angeles, California.
