Mimiboards has said iNamibia is now the biggest site in the Namibia, acccording to site statistics.
iNamibia is also reported to have the largest Facebook online community in the country. This is a big boost to Mimiboards and Umuntu Media, the owners of iNambia.
“iNamibia has achieved this momentous goal because of the application of new technologies, social media and understanding their community and really connecting with them 24/7,” Umuntu Media reported.
iNamibia now gets 3,800 page views per day and has over 100,000 page views per month, according to StatShow, a respected website estimator tool.
Their Facebook page has slightly over 13,000 fans.
Compared to other countries, the page views and Facebook page fans, seem not to be that high. This highlights the low Internet penetration in the country set at 6 percent. Namibia has only 148,414 internet users in a population of 2.1 million people.
“They have achieved this in an extremely short period of time, 18 months. Launching in January 2011, they have grown to such an extent that they have surpassed many other, more established and older brands in Namibia and are well on their way to make waves not only in–country but well beyond their borders,” Umuntu said.
Mimiboards is a platform that helps website publishers to crowd source information through texts, emails and online posts and publish them on the site. The information is then made available on various platforms including mobile, SMS and PCs.
Umuntu Media has also released iZimbabwe, iZambia, iRwanda and iUganda. It is in the process of launching iKenya and iSouthAfrica.
