Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia Sign MoU

Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia Siemens Networks have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (moU) to simplify interoperability between the OSS environments of the three firms.

Thomas Noren, vice president and head of product at Ericsson, said: “As a leader in the OSS industry we are pleased to be part of this initiative that is a practical approach to reducing the hurdles to OSS interoperability.”

The initiative will promote competition for network-level OSS systems by reducing the overall integration costs as well as speeding up the time to market the new services.

Each MoU signatory is committing to enter into reciprocal cross-licence agreements that will cover fault, performance, configuration and a basic set of networks. Each MoU signatory is also committing to offer interoperability testing services which will also be offered to third party vendors.
