Google is bringing over 150 students from 10 African countries for a 3-day summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Google Student programme, also known as Google Student Ambassador Programme, was started to encourage students to be a Google representative in their universities.

The programme helps members to learn about innovative Google products and programs, plan and host fun events on campus, act as a campus contact for Google teams and help Google better understand each university’s culture.

There are several qualifications of being a Google student Ambassador. Currently enrolled in a college or university in Europe, Middle East or Africa, pursuing a BA/BS or MS degree, passionate about technology, able to plan events and manage a budget and actively involved in student life on campus.

“Google Ambassadors have the opportunity to enhance their professional development, leadership, and communication skills, and access to a unique network of Google Ambassadors across the United States. Plus, there’s swag!” Google said.

The Summit is scheduled to start on June11 at Nairobi’s the Chandaria Auditorium, Visa Oshwal, Westlands. It promises to be a time of learning, creativity and networking.
