South African-designed ‘business-in-a-box’ eChaja has launched in Swaziland, providing a solution to non-electric mobile device charging.
Closely related to Econet’s Green Kiosk chargers, eChaja offers a solar powered-charging point for mobile phone owners without electricity supply.
Whereas many Swazis have to walk miles to the nearest store in order to charge their mobile phones, this box offers an instant, independent solution.
Developed by Mikro Lite, the box is rented or for sale and can be used to run independent businesses as “instant income,” according to the company.
eChaja is equipped with six cigarette lighter sockets to charge multiple phones per session, also equipped with timers.
The portable charger box will also boast mobile-based businesses, as Econet reported a 20 per cent revenue drop due to uncharged phones.
