The head of business development at Microsoft Ghana has expressed the company’s commitment to Ghana’s ICT transformation by investing in the nation’s young ICT professionals.
Mercy Omari Tenkorang told a seminar at the Kofi Annan Information Technology Centre added the company has created programmes through which experts with ICT solutions to Ghana’s various challenges would be discovered.
She described as essential the role played by young people in Microsoft’s plans for Ghana.
Participants at the event were exposed to the company’s various computer applications, especially those that could be used to create solutions for Ghana.
She described the event as a scout camp for Microsoft to identify talented young ICT experts to support and promote their innovative skills.
“With this [programme], they will not be tempted to travel outside Ghana to seek greener pastures elsewhere,” she added.
