Tanzania is set for an economic boost if stakeholders invest more in the field of information and technology, which is known to improve efficiency.
Speaking to about 150 experts in the field gathered for a three-day training session in Dar es Salaam, IBM country general manager David Sawe said: “There is a huge demand for ICT in organizations that aim at improving efficiencies and boosting profit.”
Sawe added that graduates from higher learning institutions were acquiring knowledge from ICT courses to help them solve problems.
Also present was IBM engineer Amit Dave, who urged African nations to become independent in ICT matters if they were to see a change in their economies.
