Habari Media, a Sub-Saharan African partner for Facebook, has won the LinkedIn Champion 2013 award for selling rights for advertising on the professional networking platform to its clients.
The LinkedIn Champion award is an international award presented to LinkedIn’s best sales partners.
“This award not only proves that Habari Media has what it takes to compete on the international stage, but with the international sales rights is actually giving us the opportunity to do just that. Brands will be able to reach international audiences, showcasing their products and services,” Bizcommunity quoted Marius Greeff, head of channel management for Habari Media, as saying.
Greeff added: “This is especially true for global or pan-regional brands whose head offices are located locally.”
Habari Media received the award in London, UK during the LinkedIn sales conference. The award evaluates performance against sales acumen, sales targets, innovation and product knowledge.
It competed against the likes of Publik from Turkey, AdProfit from Sweden, and Clique Media from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“What this means for South African-based clients is that Habari Media are now exclusively affording their clients the opportunity to run campaigns targeting international audiences, increasing their profile on the global stage and thereby their doors to conduct business at an international level,” said Greeff.
Since 2009, Habari Media has represented LinkedIn, which now has 7.2 million members throughout Africa and of those members, 2.5 million are from South Africa.
