Launch48 is to extend its startup events for aspirant entrepreneurs in Africa, Asia and Australia, after successfully hosting its first weekend in South Africa.
Launch48 took place in Cape Town last week, while a simultaneous event was taking place in Birmingham, United Kingdom (UK).
Next month Launch48 will kick off in Hong Kong, while African-based events will take place in Nigeria in August. Negotiations with contacts in Nairobi, Kenya, are also underway.
Speaking to HumanIPO, Simon McCann, commercial director of Launch48, said: “Africa is important to us.”
He added: “Our main focus is on geographic expansion, so we want to do a lot more events in a lot more cities quite soon.”
McCann said the startup initiative is open to more African connections to host more events on the continent with the fastest growing market.
Further plans under development include resource accumulation, aiming to provide free resources to the community through advisors.
HumanIPO will publish the full interview with Simon McCann on Sunday.
