Ghana’s multi-billion dollar ICT enclave Hope City has been relocated by its developers to satisfy the interests of investors and facilitate easier land acquisition.
Hope City Limited, the company running the project, announced the site for the project has been changed from Dunkuna on the Accra-Kasoa Road to Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.
Chairman Roland Agambire said the new site covers 900 acres of land and is very close to the proposed international airport and seaport.
“The new site at Prampram has an excellent topography and the extra land area will ease the mobility concerns to and from Hope City when completed,” Agambire said.
He added that with the increased size of the project, the city on completion would be able to create 300,000 jobs instead of the 50,000 jobs estimated to be provided by the former site.
Agambire however assured Ghanaians that the former site would not be totally abandoned. The Dunkuna site will also be developed, although with a different concept from that of Hope City.
