The West African Cable System (WACS) has warned clients they could face disruption early next month as cable faults are repaired, with the downtime likely to force some to look for alternative sources of bandwidth.
WACS has dispatched a ship to a section of cable it believes to be faulty, which is expected to arrive on June 4.
Repairs are expected to be completed by June 8, though WACS has warned downtime is expected during the repair period.
HumanIPO reported last month on outages on the SEACOM network as a result of cable cuts, with the company taking days to restore the full connection between Europe and Africa.
