FansConnectOnline, developers of the Afrinolly app, has told HumanIPO the app’s latest update now allows users to browse in 11 more languages in addition to English.
Bobola Oniwura, creative intelligence analyst at FansConnectOnline, said the app is now available in Arabic, French and Afrikaans as well as several other languages.
He added the company is focusing on making some content such as short films available in smaller sizes in order to tackle the challenge of data costs.
“Users should expect more African entertainment content, especially contents in bits size such as short films, content that can be easily consumed on the go,” he said.
In addition to the additional languages, he said the update on all the app platforms includes a new home interface and other features.
“We just rolled out updates for the app. Updates to the user interface on all the operating systems we support, namely Android, iOS, Blackberry, Nokia S40 series.
“This update also includes a new Home where users can find the major categories without having to deep dive into the app. Short Films have now been added after a very successful Afrinolly Short Film Competition which ended in March,” he said.
He also advised users who are currently experiencing technical difficulties in setting up the auto update option for the app on how to resolve it.
“There is auto update option in the Google Play Store that can be found in ‘Settings’ within your Play Store app, but that is at the discretion of the user of the smart device (Phone/Tablet). You just need to check your settings within the Play Store app to see if the auto-update function is checked.”
