Huawei is hosting an internet protocol (IP) summit to discuss business needs and challenges in delivering user experience to end user customers in Johannesburg, South Africa today.
Among topics discussed are the latest IP technology standards and solutions, embracing LTE and FMC transformation and Huawei’s IP strategy and vision with key industry stakeholders MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Neotel.
Huawei’s vice president for Eastern and Southern Africa, Samuel Chen, said the summit comes as South Africa enters a period of ultra-broadband and ICT-based business model with Huawei in place to guide the industry with its wealth of experience.
Chen said: “South African telecommunications industry is venturing into an exciting new era of Ultra-Broadband and ICT based business models and as an industry leader in this technology Huawei is proud to host this summit where our experts will provide the latest industry developments, solutions and strategies.”
Huawei believe end users continue to demand more innovative services and seamless experience as services such as mobile internet, cloud computing and over-the-top video grow rapidly straining network bandwidth.
Chen said this will pose the biggest challenge to operators as data get to the terabit era.
“After nearly 20 years research and development accumulation, as well as the wide application in global market, Huawei is able to provide industry-leading carrier IP network solutions and a full range of carrier-class data communication products,” he added.
