Telkom Mobile launches BlackBerry Q10 in South Africa

Telkom Mobile has launched the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone, the latest device with a physical keyboard from the Canadian manufacturer, in South Africa.

The handset will be available from Telkom Mobile via Telkom Direct, Telkom Express and 8ta stores from today (Monday), the company said.

The Q10 combines a physical keyboard with touch screen functionality, which is believed to help the user communicate more efficiently.

Furthermore the device is reportedly equipped with advanced hardware, multimedia and communications features as well as longer battery life.

Telkom described the BlackBerry 10 platform as “re-design, re-engineered and re-invented”. The platform reportedly adapts to the users needs as a “unique new mobile computing experience”.

Telkom Mobile is offering the BlackBerry Q10 through three packages, namely: the SmartPlan 50 for ZAR399 (US$40), the SmartPlan 100 for ZAR449 (US$45), and the Unlimited Voice for ZAR1,599 (US$158).
