Broadband provider Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial (SWIFT) will commence with its first steps towards providing long term evolution (LTE) connection to Nigeria with plans for kick-off in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Rollout readiness was announced after the purchase of LTE company Direct on PC and technical upgrades as a result of contracts from role players such as Huawei.
Financed by Union Bank and First City Monument Bank (FCMB), the project was recently approved by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).
Enlarged wireless capacity, mobile application devices and lower cost will be made available to SWIFT customers through the LTE launch.
SWIFT subscriber numbers will also grow as it adopts Direct on PC customers, following the acquisition.

Anadu added SWIFT will continue its investments in technologies for constant improvement.
