Telkom services in an area of Johannesburg have been disrupted after the theft of several main cables.
In total, 2,173 business and residential customers in Ferndale and Strydom Park, Randburg, were affected by the latest incident.
Theo Hess, Telkom managing executive for Network Field Services, said all services were expected to be resumed by Sunday, June 23.
He added: “Copper cable theft remains a major inhibitor to Telkom’s capability to maintain and improve service levels.
“We appeal to customers in this area to be on high alert and to report any suspicious activity to Telkom the Telkom 24 hour crime/fraud hotline number 0860 124 000.”
More than 1,500 Telkom customers were affected by cable theft in April.
