Available.fm, the first Nigerian social network site to also offer a dating solution, will be launched next month by the twins behind the successful LAGbook site.
HumanIPO reported last week brothers Chidi and Chika Nwaogu did not regret the US$10,000 sale of their former site’s domain and brand name, and now they have revealed their excitement over their latest venture – Available.fm.
“We’ll be the first social networking and dating utility,” they told HumanIPO.
“When people are registering, they’ll indicate what they’re available for – if it’s friendship or relationship. No one user can be available for both. Those who are available for friendship will use Available.fm as a social networking tool, while those who are available for relationship will use Available.fm as a dating utility,” the pair said.
According to the twin brothers, users who sign up for friendship can only see those seeking friendship, but the platform will allow users to switch back and forth.
They revealed that users interested in finding dates would be connected with the aid of a matching system.
The duo added: “We will have a match system for users who are available for dating. The match will be done based on similarity in what they love; like genre of music, food type, hobbies etc.
“While those available for friendship will have a friend suggestion system that will suggest users that live close to them, or have a mutual friend with them.”
