Top sites use Facebook widgets

A report by Pingdom recently revealed a larger number of the top 10,000 websites worldwide are now using official Facebook widgets on their pages.

According to the PingDom report, 24.3 percent of the top sites have Facebook integration. This conflicts with statements that Facebook is dying. Maybe it’s just diversifying.

Social media integration has become the norm for sites. Indeed, its one of the important components in driving traffic and page views on any site.

For Twitter, Google + and Linked in they are as follows: Google+: 13.3%, Twitter: 10.0%, LinkedIn: 0.6%

No website can do away with social bookmarking. In a report — launched in April this year — titled 2012 Social Media Marketing Industry Report, it is said that social media marketing is growing. A whopping 83 percent of marketers acknowledge that social media marketing is important to them.

Earlier this month, Facebook acknowledged its power in spurring content. It released official integration for WordPress websites including Open Graph actions.
