First Bank of Nigeria has entered into a collaboration with the United Nations Education Fund (UNICEF) Health Scheme for mobile payment accessibility to beneficiaries.

FirstMonie, First Bank’s mobile payment service, will help UNICEF pay funds to beneficiaries and assist with other redemption transactions for Volunteer Community Mobilisers (VCMs).

Folake Ani-Mumuney, head of marketing and corporate communications at First Bank, said FirstMonie enables subscribers to send and receive money, pay bills, buy airtime and make other purchases.

The bank said the partnership is aimed at providing the assurance of secure delivery to recipients, irrespective of locations.

“First Bank’s citizenship ideals drive our involvement with issues that enhance socio-economic development and we are delighted to be partnering UNICEF through FirstMonie in providing a mobile payment solution that supports the drive for education of the host communities in the eradication of the polio virus from Nigeria,” Ani-Mumuney said, ThisDayLive reported.

Wealth creation is promoted with FirstMonie platform engagement as opportunities are created for thousands of entrepreneurs nationwide, as well as financial assistance offered to unbanked through mobile payment solutions.
