A leading Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE has made a dive into the Tunisian mobile phone market making the North African country its newest major outlet.
With over 9 million mobile phone users out of its population of 11 million, Tunisia is one of the most saturated mobile phones markets in Africa. With the entrance of ZTE, this number may soon rise.
The company announced that their products, including smartphones and a tablet running on android 2.3., will be sold exclusively by Rayencom.
Rayencom’s CEO Belhassen Zemni confirmed to Xinhua that in spite of the saturation of the saturation of the Tunisian telecom market, ZTE has managed to find its place in Tunisia.
Fadhel Kerkache, a consultant for Rayencom, told Xinhua: “The Tunisian market has answered very favourably. Both ZTE and its Tunisian partner have decided to launch the brand in June 2012 which boasts an innovative technology and an excellent quality-price ratio.”
ZTE collaborates with 500 telephone operators in the world and is present in more than 140 countries in the world, including the United States and Europe, according to ZTE’s marketing director Jasmine Xu.
