John Karam has been appointed the new vice president for Middle East and French speaking Africa at multinational software company Citrix.
Karam will be in charge of the expansion and development of Citrix operations in the region and will be answerable to the general manager for the region.
At the cloud company Karam will also be expected to create new business opportunities and keep good relations with the partner ecosystem.
According to Citrix general manager for the MEA region Carlos Sartorius Karam landed the job due to his experience in emerging markets at Symantech where he served as the managing director for MEA, responsible for total revenue, strategy and execution.
“Johnny’s previous success in driving growth in emerging markets will be a significant asset to the future success of Citrix business across the Middle East and Africa; it is a high growth market with significant opportunity to influence workplace transformation,” said Satorius.
“His leadership skills, expertise and experience in technology coupled with his extensive knowledge of the enterprise market all ensure that Johnny will be a great addition to the Citrix team.”
According to Karam the new role enables him to exploit opportunities for Citrix products in the region especially in promoting flexible working, foster self service and create a more agile IT environment.
“Mobile workstyles are at a tipping point in countries across MEA. The consumerisation of IT has begun to heavily influence the enterprise, driving demand for a more cost effective and flexible way of working. The prospects open to me by joining the company were clear from the outset; Citrix leads in the enterprise mobility space.” Karam said.
