Mobile Web East Africa 2012 (#MWEA2012) is part of a series of Mobile technology events that include Mobile Web Africa 2009, 2010 and 2011, Mobile Web West Africa 2011 and Mobile Entertainment Africa 2011.
The 2 day event that will run from the 22nd to the 23rd of February will give app developers another chance to win great prizes and be able to present their applications to the leading persons in Africa’s mobile ecosystem. The competition will be sponsored by all amber and InMobi.
A speaker faculty that includes Mark Kaigwa of Afrinnovator, Paul Kukubo Chairman of the Kenya ICT Board and Judith Owigar president of Akirachix will liven up the conference. Participants will get to hear about the evolution of Kenya’s ICT Sector in the past 5 years.
It has been a subject of discussion at to whether Kenya and in general Africa’s ICT sector is justified as a Silicon Savannah. The conference will thus evaluate the players in the sector, their successes and the challenges they are facing.
