Media startups have an exclusive session to pitch their ideas at the upcoming African Media Business exchange slotted for July 11 and 12.
The African Media Business Exchange is part of Broadcast Film and Music Africa Conference –a summit that brings together media practitioners.
This year’s event will include a pitching session to leading venture capitalists including 88mph, Acumen Fund, Africa Media Ventures Fund, Investeq Capital Limited, Speed Capital and InReturn Capital.
The conference is in conjunction with Aitec Africa and Film Biz Africa, an online and hardcopy publication about film news in Africa.
“Film-makers, music production houses, unique TV and radio initiatives, animators, advertising agencies, broadcasters and pollsters who attend the conference are being cited as potential beneficiaries,” the organisers said.
Although the conference will concentrate on broadcast content on television and through cinema, more online and new media initiatives are expected to be represented well.
“The conference discusses contemporary and future broadcasting models for pay and Free to Air (FTA) TV, Radio, trends in creative content and digital content development,” the organisers said.
For entrepreneurs to pitch, they will require to pay an amount. Companies will be charged KSh10,000 ($120) and for individuals, KSh5,000 ($60). The fee is inclusive of incentives such as free delegate registration, free conference kits, free parking and free access to AITEC Conference presentation and Seminars.
“The format will be a one-to-one fifteen minutes face-to-face meeting with each of the VCs to pitch concepts and business plans and clinch deals,” Film Biz Africa said.
Attendees can sign up at Aitec’s website.
