A new player has entered Nigeria’s ecommerce scene promising to change the way shoppers splash out on merchandise online.
Ecommerce is nothing new in Nigeria as Web Mall Nigeria has joined Kasuwa, one of the recently launched online retail market in the country.
The difference with Web Mall Nigeria is that it will host thousands of virtual stores that have own unique designs. The service is comparable to the American online stores ProStores, an eBay owned company.
Such ventures enable businessmen including established ones, to open an online version of their stores with little investment.
Web Mall Nigeria has taken the route of Platform as a service (PaaS) as it has availed a customizable platform for entrepreneurs to use, rather than having to design one’s store from scratch.
This whole idea was the creation of Wole Oladapo, an entrepreneur, who wanted to influence the way businesses conducted themselves.
Merchants who want to open a store through the platform will find it quite easy to start one. They don’t have to worry about the hassles of Web design and management. They will also concentrate on selling their wares and services.
