Orange to Stream Live the African Cup 2012

Video streaming is slowly killing television views. The move by Orange to stream various matches online only goes to point to where the wind is blowing. Orange announced that thanks to its partnership with Confederation of African Football, it will avail some of the AFC matches.

Orange is one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Africa and recently announced that their money service has 3 million subscribers in 8 in African countries. Since 2009 Orange has been a sponsor to the African Cup Nation tournament.

Orange broadcasted the opening ceremony on 21st January followed by the streaming of the first match: Equatorial Guinea vs Libya. Orange will also avail at least 8 matches of the tournament for free for users.
